Welcome to a new season at the East New York CSA! We would like to introduce you to our new farmers who will be supplying us with delicious vegetables and fruits this year!

Our new farm partner is El Mirador Farm.  Victor Pavia and his family are the owners of El Mirador Farm, a pesticide-free, sustainable farm known for its prolific peppers and potatoes and delicious watermelons. El Mirador is located in Hazlet, New Jersey, only 1 hour away from East New York. Victor worked with the Central Brooklyn CSA last year, to rave reviews! Read more about how Victor came to be a sustainable farmer in the Northeast as a transplant from Mexico here.

This year, our fruit share will be provided by Hepworth Farms! Hepworth Farms is a seventh generation, family-owned farm in Milton, NY, just under two hours away from East New York. The farm is owned and operated by Amy Hepworth, Gail Hepworth and Gerry Greco.  Read more about Hepworth Farms here.

We are looking for a new egg share vendor this season.  Let us know if you have any suggestions and stay tuned to hear more about our efforts in finding a new vendor!

We also have new distribution information to share.  This season our distribution site is located at Iglesia Misionera Evangelica at 734 Jamaica Avenue, Brooklyn NY  10028.  Distribution days and times are Thursdays from 5:00 p.m to 7:30 p.m.

Please remember that fruit and eggs are optional, but if you are interested in purchasing any of the optional shares, you must first purchase a vegetable share. After you’ve signed up for your veggie share, you will receive information about these extra items and how to purchase them.

If you’d like to purchase a share, contact us at or call 212-825-0028. And be sure to tell your friends and family about where they can get fresh, affordable, locally grown vegetables and fruits right in their own neighborhood!

Time is Running Out!

15 Jun

We had a great event on Thursday! Cheryl Rogowski came out and spoke to our members about the history of her farm, and brought a beautiful basket of her produce. We had about 30 people in attendance, asking questions and getting excited about the season.

Everyone is really looking forward to getting started — our first distribution is Wednesday, June 22, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.!

If you haven’t signed up yet, you should do that THIS WEEK! The number of shares is limited, but we want to make sure everyone that is interested gets a chance to be involved. If you have any questions, now is the time to ask them. You can call 212-825-0028 ext. 210, or you can e-mail

Here’s to a great season!
